NATURAL GLAZE.
SINTERED ENGOBE.
This special glaze is a mix of loamy soils that I found while jogging in my hometown of Eppan.
The
naturally occurring minerals provide this very special
Coloration and crystal formationAt an altitude of almost 1000 meters, I collect these and carry them down to the valley in buckets with my backpack.
With a terrain gradient of 21% and a weight of 13kg per bucket, it's a sporting undertaking.
Once home, I mix the soil with water, first sift it coarsely and then very finely by hand using a sieve and brush.
The remaining clay sludge now needs to have its viscosity adjusted to the correct level before it can be tested for suitability.
